Created exclusively for The PhD Project Doctoral Student Association (DSA) members, our social utility and networking site allows you to connect with other doctoral students, DSA alumni and prospective candidates. Join today to take advantage of this exclusive resource!
The PhD Project was established in 1994 to increase the diversity of corporate America by increasing the diversity of business school faculty. The PhD Project Doctoral Students Associations (DSAs) were subsequently created to provide networking, peer support, mentoring and joint research opportunities for minority business doctoral students throughout their doctoral programs. And it works -- the completion rate among these doctoral students is
over 90% as compared to a less than 70% national average.
There are 5 discipline specific associations covering the major areas of business education:
Accounting,
Finance,
Information Systems,
Management,
Marketing.
To be eligible for membership in one of these associations, you must be
1) African-American, Hispanic-American or Native American
2) a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident
3) admitted to, or enrolled in, a full-time, AACSB-accredited U.S. business doctoral program
Each summer, The PhD Project Doctoral Students Associations meet in conjunction with the major professional association for their industry. All expenses for minority doctoral student members are covered to attend The PhD Project conferences and the related professional association conferences allowing our members to network with leading academics in their fields. And, we invite The PhD Project faculty members to join us at the reception and dinner held on the final evening of each conference. Please
